Role Overview:
The Policy Administrator / Senior Associate will be responsible for overseeing and executing the full policy lifecycle across health and life insurance segments. The role demands deep operational knowledge, accuracy in execution, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain high-quality standards in documentation, compliance, renewals, and customer experience.
This role is ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of driving operational efficiency while mentoring junior executives and collaborating with internal stakeholders and insurers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy Lifecycle Management
- Supervise and execute the complete policy processing flow - from proposal validation, KYC verification, and payment confirmation to final issuance.
- Conduct secondary checks on policy details (coverage, premium, tenure, nominee, etc. ) before dispatch.
- Maintain comprehensive case logs and ensure adherence to turnaround time (TAT) metrics.
2. Quote Review & Support
- Support and review quote generation activities done by operations executives.
- Validate premium calculations, compare product suitability, and escalate discrepancies when identified.
- Coordinate with the partner/sales team to ensure smooth flow from quotation to proposal submission.
3. Documentation & Compliance Control
- Own the integrity of all documentation and compliance processes across issued and renewal policies.
- Maintain high-quality standards for digital and physical records as per AssetPlus documentation protocols.
- Ensure compliance with IRDAI guidelines and participate in internal audits with 100% accuracy.
- Proactively identify risk areas in documentation or process deviations and recommend preventive measures.
4. Renewals, Endorsements & Cancellations
- Manage and track renewals with a focus on timely follow-ups, communication reminders, and data accuracy.
- Oversee endorsements, corrections, and cancellations, ensuring error-free insurer coordination.
- Maintain monthly renewal and endorsement dashboards with closure TATs and pending case analysis.
5. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Serve as an escalation point for pending or complex cases.
- Liaise with insurers, internal tech, and operations teams to resolve issues and streamline workflows.
- Conduct limited outbound coordination calls for pending documentation or clarifications.
- Train and guide junior team members to enhance productivity and accuracy levels.
6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain daily and weekly MIS trackers for quotes, policies, renewals, and discrepancies.
- Prepare analytical reports highlighting SLA adherence, productivity, and exception management.
- Identify automation and workflow enhancement opportunities to optimise the policy operations process.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of life and health insurance operations, policy issuance, and servicing workflows.
- Strong compliance and audit orientation with high attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Google Sheets, CRM systems, and insurer portals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and upskill junior team members.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Commerce, Business Administration, or Insurance Management.
- 2-5 years of experience in insurance policy operations, servicing, or backend administration.
- Exposure to aggregator, POSP, or multi-insurer models preferred.
- Strong understanding of insurer workflow and operational escalation management.
