PLC Programmer

An Automation Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining automated systems and software to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in business or industrial processes. Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop automation scripts and programs for applications, systems, or industrial processes Analyze manual processes and convert them into automated workflows Develop and maintain test automation frameworks (UI, API, regression, performance) Work with PLC, SCADA, HMI, or software automation tools (based on industry) Integrate automation solutions with databases, APIs, and third-party tools Identify and fix automation defects and performance issues Collaborate with developers, testers, and operations teams Prepare technical documentation and reports Ensure automation follows quality, security, and coding standards Required SkillsProgramming knowledge in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or PLC languages Experience with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, UFT, TestComplete, RPA tools like UiPath/Automation Anywhere) Understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps) Database knowledge (SQL, NoSQL) Problem-solving and debugging skills Preferred SkillsExperience in industrial automation (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell) Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology Basic DevOps or scripting knowledge
