Playwright + Java

• Design, build and maintain resilient end-to-end automated test suites using Playwright for Java to validate web UI and cross-browser flows.
• Author stable, reusable Java-based automation frameworks (TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle) and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines for nightly and gated test runs.
• Create and execute API-level automated tests (REST/JSON), validate contracts, and coordinate with backend teams on contract and integration issues.
• Triages test failures, performs root-cause analysis, and collaborates with developers to fix flakiness and improve observability (logs, screenshots, videos).
• Implement test-data strategies, environment setup, and parallelisation to reduce test runtime while maintaining reliability.
• Contribute to test strategy, code reviews, documentation, and mentor peers on automation best practices and quality engineering principles.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Proven hands-on experience building automation using Playwright for Java and strong Core Java skills (Java 8/11+).
• Experience with TestNG or JUnit, and dependency/build management using Maven or Gradle.
• Practical experience testing REST APIs and integrating API checks into end-to-end flows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and Git-based workflows for test automation jobs.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and test-flakiness mitigation skills; ability to produce reliable, maintainable test code.
  

Preferred

• Experience with Docker containers for test environments and knowledge of parallel test execution strategies.
• Exposure to BDD (Cucumber) or test data management approaches and environment provisioning automation.
• Knowledge of performance or accessibility testing basics and observability tooling (logging, reporting dashboards).
• Prior experience in Agile teams and collaborating closely with product, dev, and SRE teams to shift quality left.
