Position: Safety Supervisor – Plant

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols across the plant in accordance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
• Supervise and ensure safe work practices in high-risk areas such as furnaces, rolling mills, SMS, and other heavy process operations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Lead safety training programs including induction sessions, toolbox talks, mock drills, and job safety analysis (JSA).
• Monitor adherence to PPE usage, LOTO procedures, and other critical safety controls during maintenance and operations.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and project teams to ensure compliance with safety standards during routine operations and shutdowns.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for safety audits, compliance checklists, and statutory reporting.
• Support implementation of safety certifications and best practices such as ISO 45001, OHSAS, and HIRA.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety (Mandatory – PDIS)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in plant safety supervision in heavy industries (steel, power, cement, or process plants)

Skills & Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of high-risk industrial safety protocols and legal compliance (Factories Act, BOCW, IS codes)
• Strong understanding of LOTO, confined space entry, work at height, hot work, and hazardous material handling
• Effective communication and training skills for team-wide safety awareness
• Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and risk control strategies
• Ability to enforce discipline, manage emergencies, and drive a proactive safety culture
• Must know Odia Language

Preferred Certifications (if any):

• Government-recognized Safety Certifications (PDIS Mandatory)
• Certified in Electrical Safety, LOTO, Fire Safety, First Aid
• Training in ISO 45001 / OHSAS / HIRA / Risk Management
