Job Description:

The Plant Safety Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel, contractors, and visitors within the plant premises. They are responsible for implementing, managing, and continually improving safety programs, policies, and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards. The Plant Safety Manager works closely with all departments to promote a culture of safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry best practices. 2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the plant facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. 3. Collaborate with department managers to assess safety risks associated with their operations and develop effective risk mitigation strategies. 4. Provide safety training and education programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to promote awareness and compliance with safety protocols. 5. Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 6. Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, training, and compliance activities. 7. Coordinate with external regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits as necessary. 8. Stay informed about emerging safety trends, regulations, and technologies to continuously improve safety programs and practices. 9. Act as a liaison between management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding safety-related matters. 10. Lead emergency response and crisis management efforts to ensure a prompt and effective response to incidents such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters.
