Planning Engineer

About the Role

Key responsibilities include developing contingency plans, conducting site visits, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating communication between contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and Planning:

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Create a comprehensive project plan, integrating various work packages and establishing the critical path.

• Project Coordination and Communication:

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to align on project objectives and ensure effective communication.
• Facilitate communication between different teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth workflow.

• Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

• Track project progress, analyze performance against the baseline schedule, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and document key milestones and performance indicators (KPIs).

• Risk & Change Management:

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage change requests and implement recovery schedules to address delays and keep projects on track.

• Cost & Resource Management:

• Assist in budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control processes.
• Track and allocate resources (man-hours, materials) to specific tasks and activities.

• Site Supervision:

• Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and adherence to the plan and schedule.

• Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that all project activities comply with safety standards, relevant regulations, and contractual obligations.

• Procurement:

• Interact with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, especially long-lead items.

Qualifications

• Education:

  A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

• Experience:

  Experience in civil engineering, transportation planning, or large infrastructure projects like metros.
