Planning Engineer

Job Purpose

The Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling project activities to ensure timely completion of civil construction works within approved cost and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed

  project schedules

  (baseline, revised, and recovery schedules) using

  Primavera P6 / MS Project

  .
• Develop

  work breakdown structure (WBS)

  for civil construction activities.
• Monitor project progress and update schedules on a regular basis.
• Coordinate with site execution, billing, QA/QC, procurement, and subcontractors to collect progress data.
• Prepare

  weekly and monthly progress reports

  , look-ahead schedules, and dashboards for management.
• Identify

  schedule deviations

  , critical activities, and risks; propose corrective and preventive actions.
• Support preparation of

  EOT (Extension of Time)

  claims and delay analysis.
• Assist in

  resource planning

  (manpower, materials, machinery) and cash flow planning.
• Ensure alignment between planning, execution, and billing quantities.
• Review subcontractor schedules and monitor their progress.
• Maintain planning records, progress photographs, and documentation.
• Attend progress review meetings and provide planning inputs.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:

  B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering

• Experience: 8-10

  years of experience in planning for civil/infrastructure projects
• Experience in buildings, roads, bridges, industrial or institutional projects preferred
  

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in

  Primavera P6

  and/or

  MS Project

• Good knowledge of

  Excel, PowerPoint

  ,

  ERP Software

  and reporting formats
• Understanding of

  construction methodology and sequencing

• Basic knowledge of

  billing, BOQ, and contract conditions

• Familiarity with delay analysis and project controls
