Planner - CT Operations

Purpose/Objective

Yard Planner is responsible for organizing and optimizing yard space for the efficient storage and movement of import and export containers, based on vessel schedules and delivery plans. This role ensures seamless coordination between various departments, including documentation, yard supervisors, and control tower operations, to ensure timely container release and vessel turnaround.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Yard Planning: Plan and monitor the yard area for the storage of import and export containers, ensuring optimal space utilization based on vessel estimated time of arrival (ETA) and delivery schedules. Export Container Monitoring: Check and verify that export containers are received as per the planned vessel schedules, ensuring all shipments are ready for loading. Shift Coordination: Advise shift Superintendents on the consolidation of container moves to enhance operational efficiency and minimize unnecessary movements. Documentation: Coordinate with the documentation officer regarding the status of export/import bookings, ensuring all required paperwork is complete and up-to-date. Yard Storage Planning: Collaborate with yard supervisors to implement the yard storage plan, ensuring that containers are positioned according to vessel schedules for timely loading and unloading. Client Management: Liaise with control tower officers and clients to ensure the timely release and retrieval of containers, minimizing delays in yard operations. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve yard planning and storage processes, ensuring optimal space utilization and efficient container handling. Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure all yard activities comply with safety and operational standards, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: Graduation in any stream Work Experience: 8-12 years relevant experience At least 2 years of yard planning/ 3 years as tower controller/ 3 years as a QC operator
