Job description of Physical Education Director:


DUTIES PERTAINING TO:


  1. Teaching:

  • Physical Fitness, Competitive Training and Coaching, Curriculum development, on ground classes,
  1. Administration:

  • Forming sports Committee(s), Meeting Budget, Procuring the Equipment, Notification/Circular, arranging to send for Varsity Competitions / Trials.
  1. Institution:

  • Maintenance of sports facilities, Report to the Registrar, Student Discipline, Flag Hoisting, Organize State/National inter University tournaments.
  1. Outside Agencies :

  • Government, Private, Public, Organization of Competition, Guide, Assist, Secure help for Promising Sportspersons, Lectures on Drug Abuse, Fitness, Health etc.
  1. Personal Development

    :
  • From NAAC/ UGC points of view
  1. People Management:

  • Hire, Train and retain team members


Overall Responsibilities:

  1. To Coach, Guide, Train and Supervise Students in general, adopt a selective basis in Major Games and Athletics, give Training Daily both in the Morning and Evening Depending Upon the Working Hours.
  2. In Addition to the above-mentioned Teaching Work, the following duties will be discharged by the Physical Education Director.


  • To conduct the Inter-Class matches
  • To conduct the Inter-Collegiate tournaments
  • To assist the University in conducting Inter-Varsity program
  • To conduct annual competitions for students across the Schools of the University
  • To purchase, maintain and use standard equipment and sports goods for Various activities in accordance with the physical culture (Sports) committee regulations.
  • To prepare, maintain and use available play fields, courts and grounds
  • To prepare a plan for the development and promotion of sports and physical education
  • To select and train the teams for different games and tournaments for the participation at the State / National / International level
  • To co-ordinate and implement the program chalked out by the Physical Culture Committee (Sports) of the College and Universities in regard to Sports and Physical Education.
  • Office Management (Budgeting, Formation of various clubs / Committee etc.,)
  • Maintenance of Files (Circulars, Official Memorandum, Correspondence, Fixtures etc.)
  • Organization of Coaching Camps
  • Organization of Tournaments (Private tournaments with the Assistance of Local Sports clubs)
  • National Days Celebration (Independence Day, Republic Day, National Sports Day and Mourning Days)
  • Hire, Train and retain the top performing team members
  • Collaborate with Schools/Departments and encourage the faculty/Staff/Students to participate in the sports activities.
  • Interactions with Technical Experts of Various Sports, Federations
  • Officiating Assignments


Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education from a reputed University
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a private University and in a leadership role
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good in networking with external sports clubs
