Job Description

The PGT Chemistry teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Chemistry to students of Classes 9 to 12, aligning with CBSE curriculum. The role demands a strong focus on conceptual clarity, academic excellence, and targeted preparation for competitive exams such as NEET and JEE (Main/Advanced), alongside high marks in CBSE Board Exam. Key Responsibilities: Academic Delivery: Teach Chemistry to students of Classes 9 to 12 with clear explanations and effective classroom strategies. Follow and complete the CBSE syllabus within the stipulated timeline, integrating NCERT books and exemplar problems. Design and deliver lesson plans that build conceptual clarity, especially in physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. Use real-life examples, experiments, and demonstrations to make the subject engaging and practical. Board and Competitive Exam Preparation: Conduct special practice sessions, doubt-clearing classes, and mock tests focused on CBSE board pattern questions. Provide targeted training and problem-solving sessions for NEET and JEE aspirants, using previous year papers and standard reference books. Maintain a progressive academic plan for high-performing students aiming for competitive exams. Assessment and Feedback: Design and evaluate tests, assignments, and projects in line with CBSE guidelines and NEET/JEE standards. Analyze performance trends of students and offer individual feedback and mentoring. Share timely reports with principal and parents, highlighting academic progress and areas of improvement. Classroom Management and Student Engagement: Create a positive and disciplined learning environment. Motivate and guide students towards academic goals and cultivate interest in Chemistry and science careers. Identify and support underperforming students with remedial teaching plans. Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with subject teachers for interdisciplinary activities and curriculum integration. Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and parent-teacher interactions. Guide students in science fairs, Olympiads, NTSE, and other enrichment programs. Key Skills and Competencies: Excellent command over Chemistry and pedagogy for Classes 9 to 12. Familiarity with CBSE curriculum, exam pattern, NEET and JEE syllabus. Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Ability to mentor, motivate, and challenge students. Technologically proficient. Qualifications M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university. B.Ed. (Mandatory as per CBSE norms). Minimum 2 years of experience teaching senior secondary Chemistry with proven results in boards and/or competitive exams. Experience in preparing digital content and test series is an added advantage.
