People Partner

As a People Business Partner (PBP) at APM Terminals, your main focus will be to align people strategies with the business goals and objectives of the organization. You will work closely with senior leaders, establishing collaborative and consultative relationships with them. Your responsibilities will include consulting, coaching, enabling business change, advocating for people solutions, and partnering with the business, talent management, and recruiting colleagues on key talent initiatives such as workforce planning, hi-potential talent development, and succession planning. In this professional role, you will primarily apply your technical and discipline knowledge to achieve results rather than managing people. However, you may also be involved in coaching or mentoring less experienced staff, informal supervisory responsibilities, or overseeing the work of other lower-level professionals or managing processes and programs. Your individual work may range from setting objectives and delivering on your own responsibilities to becoming a leading expert in a specific field and influencing long-term tactical decisions within the organization. Your progression within this role will be based on increasing depth of professional knowledge, project management capability, and the ability to influence others. You are expected to have in-depth knowledge and experience in your functional area, applying this knowledge to solve common business issues within established practices and procedures. While you will handle most situations independently, you may seek advice, guidance, and support for more complex or non-routine topics. As a leader in this role, you will be accountable for the performance and results of teams consisting of less experienced professionals, frontline workers, and administrators. You will need to adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges effectively. Understanding the overall nature of the business and the interdependencies between different functions will be crucial in this position.
