Role & responsibilities An Emergency Public Relations Officer (Emergency PRO) in a hospital or healthcare setting plays a crucial role during critical and time-sensitive situations. Here are the key roles and responsibilities: Roles and Responsibilities of an Emergency PRO: Immediate Communication: Act as the first point of contact for patient attenders during emergencies. Provide timely and accurate updates about the patients condition (as permitted by doctors). 3. Coordination with Medical Team: Liaise between doctors, nurses, and the patient's family. Ensure that treatment protocols and decisions are communicated effectively. 4. Documentation & Consent: Ensure all emergency consent forms are properly signed and filed. Assist in collecting ID proofs, reports, and prior medical records. 5. Triage Assistance: Help in categorizing emergency cases and directing patients to the appropriate unit (trauma, ICU, etc.). 6. Patient & Family Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to family members in crisis. Explain hospital procedures, charges, and policies clearly and calmly. 7. Escalation & Alerts: Notify senior management in case of medico-legal cases (MLC), VIP patients, or critical cases. Coordinate with ambulance and emergency services if needed. 8. Public & Media Handling (if required): Respond to media inquiries during mass casualty or public emergency events, under hospital guidelines. 9. Shift Handover & Reporting: Maintain proper handover to the next shift PRO. Log all critical incidents and actions taken during the emergency. Preferred candidate profile Experience - 1 to 5 years Salary best in the industry Hospital experience is an added advantage Qualification - Any UG / PG degree Willing to work Night Shift.
