Job Description

patch testing & deployment

Key Responsibilities

Patch Testing & Deployment

Perform end-to-end
patch management
for Windows, Linux, and third-party applications.
Evaluate vendor patch releases, security bulletins, and advisories.
Conduct
patch testing
in QA/UAT environments before production rollout.
Deploy patches using tools like
SCCM/MECM, WSUS, BigFix, Ivanti, ManageEngine, Tanium
, etc.
Coordinate and execute scheduled patch cycles, emergency patches, and out-of-band releases.
Perform
post-patch validation, rollback handling, and troubleshooting
.
Maintain compliance with internal and external security standards (CIS Benchmarks, ISO, PCI-DSS, etc.).

Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT)

Conduct
end-to-end vulnerability assessments
on servers, networks, applications, APIs, cloud assets.
Perform internal and external
penetration testing
using tools like
Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, Rapid7, OpenVAS
.
Analyze scan results, validate findings, and prepare detailed vulnerability reports.
Prioritize vulnerabilities based on
severity, exploitability, business impact
, and compliance requirements.
Work closely with IT Infra, DevOps, and Application teams for remediation and mitigation.
Re-validate closed vulnerabilities and ensure timely closure in ticketing systems (Jira, SNOW, Remedy).

Must-Have Skills

Strong knowledge of
OS patching (Windows/Linux)
Hands-on experience with
patch deployment tools
Experience in
VAPT tools & methodologies
Understanding of CVE, CVSS, OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK
Basic scripting knowledge:
PowerShell, Bash, Python
Knowledge of network/security fundamentals: firewalls, ports, protocols
Experience working in
SIEM/SOC/Security
environments is a plus

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation
Ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams
Good understanding of risk management and security governance

Education / Certifications (Preferred)

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Certifications: CEH, Security+, CySA+, OSCP (added advantage)
Patch management tool certifications (optional)
