Why this role exists
Our development team is expanding. The work spans migration, new template/block development, and ongoing optimization across international sites, product hubs, and integrated marketing experiences.
What you’ll do
Ship landing pages fast (and right):
Convert Figma designs to responsive, accessible WordPress pages using Gutenberg blocks and/or ACF-powered patterns, with clean HTML5/CSS3/JS.Support a live migration:
Maintain and improve existing pages while helping move the codebase and content to a custom FSE block theme (multi-year program).Build reusable systems:
Create/extend blocks, patterns, templates,
and helper utilities that marketing and content teams can use safely.Harden the front end:
Refactor legacy CSS/JS, modernize structure and workflows, and enforce componentized, scalable styles.Optimize relentlessly:
Improve performance, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO
—including Core Web Vitals, semantic markup, ARIA, and structured content.Own publishing quality:
Monitor for outdated or incorrect content, fix layout/plugin issues, and escalate complex items with clear repro steps.Collaborate in code:
Review PRs, write clear commit messages, follow coding standards, and document your work for designers and non-technical stakeholders.Mind the platform:
Work within enterprise WordPress hosting (e.g., Altis Cloud / WP Engine), environments, and CI/CD workflows.Partner across functions:
Work with backend devs, designers, SEO, analytics, and content to keep pages fast, on-brand, and easy to manage.
What you’ll bring
Must-haves
- 1 to 3 years of
hands-on WordPress
development (custom themes, block development, PHP, REST APIs). - Proven experience
migrating from page builders
(Divi/Elementor/etc.) to custom themes or FSE
. - Strong front-end skills:
HTML5, CSS3 (Flex/Grid), JavaScript (ES6+), React
, and solid PHP
fundamentals. - Deep familiarity with
Gutenberg
(block editor), block registration/composition, and ACF
(including ACF Blocks or field-driven content models). - Comfort with
Git/GitHub
, code reviews, branching strategies, and basic DevOps in managed WP environments (e.g., Altis Cloud / WP Engine
). - Demonstrated practice of
performance, accessibility, and SEO
best practices on content-heavy sites. - Excellent attention to detail, consistency with brand systems, and ability to
hit deadlines
without sacrificing quality. - Clear, proactive communication in
English
across time zones.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with
internationalization/localization
, multi-region sites, or enterprise content workflows. - Familiarity with
SEO tools
(e.g., Semrush), schema, and analytics integrations. - Experience collaborating in mixed product/marketing/design pods.
- Comfort with design handoff and
Figma-to-front-end
nuance (tokens, spacing, type scale, motion).
Contract & hiring process
Engagement:
Part-time contractor (hours vary by sprint).Paid trial:
