Location: Düsseldorf, Germany (Visa sponsorship for India-based candidates)

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Packet Core Engineer for Service Testing to

join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in testing, validating, and

troubleshooting mobile packet core networks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. You

will be responsible for end-to-end testing of packet core solutions, including 4G LTE and 5G Core

NSA/SA and Vowifi, and will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability

of our network services.

Key Responsibilities

Service Testing and Validation:

- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for packet core network

services, including EPC (Evolved Packet Core) and 5G Core (5GC) NSA & SA.

- Perform functional, performance, scalability, and regression testing of core network elements

such as MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, NRF, NSSF, NEF, ePDG.

- Validate end-to-end service flows, including data, voice (VoLTE/VoNR), and messaging services.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot issues in the packet core network during testing phases.

- Work closely with design, operations, and vendor teams to resolve defects and ensure timely

delivery of solutions.

- Conduct root cause analysis for service failures and implement corrective actions.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Document test results, defects, and resolutions in a clear and concise manner.

- Prepare detailed test reports and provide recommendations for network improvements.

- Maintain up-to-date documentation of test processes, configurations, and procedures.

Automation and Tools:

- Utilize network testing tools (e.g., Spirent, IXIA, Wireshark) to simulate traffic and validate

network behavior.

Collaboration and Support:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including core network, RAN, BSS, IPTX, Cloud, RF

teams, to ensure seamless service delivery.

- Provide technical support during service launches and post-deployment phases.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a

related field.

Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in packet core network engineering, with a focus on service

testing and validation.

Technical Skills:

- Strong understanding of 4G LTE and 5G Core (NSA/SA) network architecture, protocols, and

interfaces (e.g., S1, S11, S5/S8, N1, N2, N3, N4). Strong 5G SA experience is essential.

- Hands-on experience with core network elements such as MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF,

PCF, NRF, NSSF, NEF, ePDG.

- Proficiency in network testing tools such as Spirent, IXIA, Wireshark, or similar.

- Knowledge of network protocols such as GTP, Diameter, SIP, HTTP/2, and IPsec.

- Experience with virtualization and cloud-native technologies (e.g. Kubernetes).

- Familiarity with QoS, traffic engineering, and network security principles.

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge on Mavenir Core Applications will be an advantage.

- Knowledge of 3GPP standards and specifications for IMS-based voice and messaging services.
