Packaging Head

Job Summary:

The Head of Packaging will oversee products entire packaging development and deployment process, ensuring that packaging meets quality standards and consumer preferences.

This role involves closely working with Marketing, Sales, and Procurement, driving innovation in packaging design, materials, and production processes, while ensuring cost-efficiency, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership:

  Develop and implement the packaging strategy to align with company goals and sustainability initiatives.

• Innovation & Design:

  Oversee the design, testing, and introduction of new packaging materials and technologies to improve quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness across materials — paper, tin, glass, wood, etc.

• Vendor Management:

  Establish and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers and partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

• Cost Optimisation:

  Develop cost-saving initiatives without compromising packaging quality, safety, or brand standards.

• Compliance & Safety:

  Ensure packaging processes and materials comply with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and safety protocols.

• Sustainability Initiatives:

  Drive sustainability projects to reduce waste, increase recyclability, and adopt eco-friendly packaging materials.

• Collaboration:

  Work closely with production, marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless packaging integration into overall operations.

• Process Improvement:

  Continuously evaluate and improve packaging processes, focusing on efficiency, automation, and quality control.

• Quality Assurance:

  Establish and monitor quality benchmarks for packaging, ensuring that all products are protected and maintain integrity throughout the supply chain.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 12–15+ years of experience in packaging design, development, or management, preferably in the Food Industry.
• Proven track record in managing packaging development and working with cross-functional departments.
• Strong understanding of packaging regulations, materials, and technologies.
• Experience in sustainability practices and eco-friendly packaging.
• Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
