Description
Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and maintain all equipment such as pumps, aerators, dosing units, blowers, clarifiers, etc. Ensure proper treatment of industrial effluent by maintaining pH levels, chemical dosing, sludge handling, etc. Conduct routine checks and testing of water samples for parameters such as COD, BOD, TSS, pH, and TDS. Record all daily operational logs and chemical consumption reports. Manage chemical stock and assist in procurement of treatment chemicals. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tanks, pipelines, and other equipment. Respond to alarms and system malfunctions in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with pollution control board norms and assist in documentation for audits. Coordinate with EHS and production teams to handle wastewater efficiently. Follow safety and environmental protocols at all times. Requirements: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 1–5 years of experience in operating an industrial ETP, preferably in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors. Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes: biological, chemical, and physical. Ability to handle testing equipment and basic lab analysis. Understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations. Good communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills: Experience in Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems. Familiarity with STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) operations. Knowledge of SCADA or PLC-based systems (if applicable). Certification from Pollution Control Board or training on ETP operations. Working Conditions: Shift-based work, including weekends and holidays, depending on plant operations. Exposure to chemicals, wastewater, and loud equipment noise. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) mandatory during work.
