As a Project Manager in a manufacturing plant, your role involves leading end-to-end management of multiple projects to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will define project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Developing detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules will be crucial to ensure timely execution. Your key responsibilities will include: - Coordinating with internal teams like production, engineering, and procurement to achieve project milestones. - Overseeing contractors, suppliers, and vendors to maintain quality standards and meet timelines. - Monitoring project progress using relevant project management tools and techniques, and adjusting plans as needed. In terms of stakeholder management, you will be required to liaise with senior leadership to provide regular updates on project status, risks, and opportunities. Working with plant managers and department heads will ensure seamless integration of project outcomes into plant operations. Managing communication with all stakeholders to align their expectations with project deliverables is essential. Your role will also involve identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and managing project changes while assessing their impact on timelines and budgets. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring project costs within budgetary limits, providing accurate and timely reporting on project performance, budget status, and resource utilization, and evaluating project outcomes to propose improvements for future projects. To qualify for this role, you should have: - A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus. - Minimum 10-15 years of experience in project management within a manufacturing or plant environment. Other requirements include: - Strong project management skills in planning, scheduling, and budgeting. - Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project and Primavera. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster teamwork. - Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Key competencies for this role include: - Leadership and decision-making ability. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment is an advantage. In terms of work conditions, you will primarily be based at the plant site with occasional travel as required. Extended hours may be necessary during critical project phases.
