Job Title: Operations Associate – Custody/Transaction Processing

Location : Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Vadodara


Job Purpose:

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage end-to-end transaction processing, from receipt, pre-processing, scanning, and dispatch to reconciliation and record management. This role supports smooth day-to-day operations within the Custody/Operations unit while ensuring strict adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.


Job Background / Context:

This position plays a vital role in the transaction processing and operations team. The role involves accurate and timely handling of financial instruments and related documents (e.g., cheques, advices), coordination with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders, and compliance with strict turnaround times. Strong attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and proper record management are essential for success.


🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • Receipt and pre-processing of transactions (checklists, document preparation, scanning).
  • Dispatch of advices, recording, and reconciliation.
  • Handling of post-processing documents for onward dispatch.
  • Reconciliation of transactions and courier documentation.
  • Filing, stamping, and retrieval of documents per established processes.
  • Preparation of record management schedules and batches for dispatch.
  • Generating MIS reports as required.
  • Processing of cheques, including receipt, recording, sorting, counting, scrutiny, and handover.
  • Retrieval of cheques for day-to-day processing.
  • Generation/preparation of manual or system advices for dispatch.
  • Scanning and raising of technical scrutiny cheques.


🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Graduate degree completed.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Basic understanding of transaction processing and document management.
  • Familiarity with cheque handling, clearing processes, and reconciliation activities.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) and scanning/document systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in banking operations, custody services, or financial back-office.
  • Knowledge of record management practices and audit compliance.
  • Understanding of regulatory guidelines related to transaction/document processing.


🛠 Skills

Essential:

  • Proficiency with document scanning and archiving systems.
  • Data entry and transaction recording.
  • Secure handling of physical documents.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with MS Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
