Description
Supervise all front-of-house operations including box office, ushers, concession staff, and volunteers. Ensure outstanding customer service and a welcoming environment for all patrons. Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints or issues promptly. Recruit, train, and manage front-of-house and operations staff. Schedule staff shifts in coordination with performance and event calendars. Conduct performance reviews and implement staff development plans. Oversee the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of the venue. Liaise with maintenance contractors and building management as required. Ensure all public areas and backstage facilities meet operational standards. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement emergency protocols. Oversee first aid, evacuation procedures, and crowd control measures. Assist in developing and managing the operations budget. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare reports on operations, attendance, staffing, and facility use. Coordinate with production and technical teams to ensure seamless event execution. Manage operational aspects of private hires, special events, and community programs. Ensure proper setup, signage, and patron access for all events. Build relationships with suppliers, external partners, and contractors. Negotiate service contracts and manage inventory (e.g., concession stock, uniforms). Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience in operations or venue management, preferably in the arts or entertainment sector. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Knowledge of health and safety standards in public venues. Proficient with scheduling and ticketing systems Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
