Assist in researching, writing and editing news stories and updates
Monitor news wires, trending topics and social media for breaking stories
Support the news desk with headline selection, content updates, and fact-checking
Coordinate with reporters, photographers, videographers and digital teams to ensure timely coverage
Help manage homepage and section pages with fresh content
Learn and apply basic SEO, metadata tagging, and digital content practices
Pitch story ideas and assist in special news packages when needed
Strong interest in journalism, news media, current affairs
Excellent writing, editing, grammar and communication skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines and remain calm in breaking news situations
Familiarity with digital news platforms, social media, SEO a plus
Detail oriented, proactive, reliable, team player
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and off-shifts
