In this role, resources need to have a strong understanding of Networking in the dynamic infrastructure space. He/she will need to be familiar with multiple technology stacks in Networking and Communicating and collaborating with client and other technical support teams fix issues timely.
Implement security best practices across routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Conduct vulnerability scans and remediate findings (patching, ACL tuning, firmware updates).
Configure IDS/IPS, VPNs, and firewall rules to minimize attack surface.
Respond to Level 1–3 network-related support tickets via ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues, DNS/DHCP failures, and connectivity drops.
Maintain SLAs and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
Implement LAN/WAN connections using routers and switches.
Configure Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, VLANs, VTP, STP, EtherChannel.
Set up routing protocols: Static, RIPv2, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
Work with ACL, NAT, PAT, DHCP, HSRP for secure and efficient traffic flow.
Monitor and define network security requirements.
Manage intrusion detection systems, firewalls, antivirus, log management, and authentication systems.
Investigate intrusion/hacking incidents and lead incident response efforts.
Create, document, and implement procedures for solution builds and device deployments.
Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve escalations.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, server, and cloud teams to align network posture.
Generate reports on ticket trends, recurring issues, and hardening progress.
Strong grasp of TCP/IP, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, and routing protocols.
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto devices.
Familiarity with wireless tools and RF planning software.
Proficiency with troubleshooting tools like Wireshark and Packet Tracer.
Basic scripting (Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
Bachelor’s in computer science, IT, or related field.
Certifications preferred: CCNA, CWNA, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent
