Job Description

  • Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting:

     Handle escalated technical issues related to firewalls, VPNs, and general network connectivity that L1 support cannot resolve.
  • Policy and Configuration Management:

  • Review, modify, add, and delete firewall rules and policies according to client change management processes.
  • Optimize firewall rule sets for improved security.
  • Configure and manage Palo Alto products like PAN-OS and GlobalProtect.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance:

  • Monitor firewall availability, CPU, and memory utilization.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, health checks, and apply necessary patches and upgrades.
  • Perform daily backups of firewall configurations.
  • Security and Compliance:

  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and respond to security threats.
  • Implement and monitor security measures to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Zscaler :

       
  •       Implementation and configuration

    :

     Deploy, configure, and maintain Zscaler services like ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX. This involves setting up policies and fine-tuning configurations for different user types. 
  •       Troubleshooting

    :

     Provide level 3 support for major incidents, troubleshoot complex network and security issues, and perform tasks like analyzing security logs and packet captures.
  •       Architecture and design: Develop high-level architectural designs for Zscaler implementations, and guide strategic planning for cloud security.
  •       Policy and standards: Define global standards, policies, and procedures for Zscaler services.
  • Support and Collaboration:

  • Act as an escalation point for L1 support, providing guidance and training to junior engineers.
  • Coordinate with other IT teams, vendors, and customers to resolve issues.
  • Manage incidents, service requests, and problems to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Documentation: Document solutions, maintain accurate records, and keep network diagrams and policies up to date. 


  • Qualifications

  • Experience:

     Typically requires 3-5+ years of experience in network or security support, with hands-on experience specifically with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs (IPsec, SSL), and routing protocols.
  • Proficiency in Palo Alto Networks products (PAN-OS, GlobalProtect).
  • Familiarity with other security devices like Cisco routers and switches, and Fortinet is often a plus.
  • Experience with change management and ticketing systems is crucial.
