 business lines to the Murex platform (MX.3 v3.1.60). The environment includes ongoing patching/hotfix management for Murex MX.3 (v3.1.60) and related integrations.
Role Overview
Were seeking an experienced 
Murex Support Engineer
 to provide 
Level 1 support
 for Murexs end-to-end environment. This role will involve 
technical support, environment management, configuration
, and 
automation
 within a global financial systems context. Strong emphasis will be placed on working knowledge of Murex MX.3 (v3.1.60), DevOps tooling (Jenkins v2.x+, Azure DevOps/ADO), Unix/Linux administration, SQL/Oracle databases, and Python (3.x).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 support for Murex end-of-day nightly batch jobs, monitoring job runs and resolving job failures. 
- Design, develop, and review code following Agile principles, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. 
- Manage Murex configuration, release, and environment setup, including applying patches and hotfixes to MX.3 (v3.1.60). 
- Participate in integration and user acceptance testing. 
- Conduct code optimization and adhere to organizational coding standards. 
- Develop and maintain DevOps pipelines using Jenkins (v2.x+) and Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD, automated deployments, and release orchestration. 
- Troubleshoot application and environment issues using logs, trace analysis, and root cause techniques across Murex, middleware, and database layers. 
- Apply patches, upgrades, and hotfixes to Murex applications and coordinate with vendors/third parties as required. 
- Prepare and maintain required documentation and EA/OIS clearance artifacts for changes and deployments. 
- Work closely with Unix/Linux administrators to manage RHEL/AIX-based environments and perform shell scripting automation. 
 
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics. 
- 2+ years of relevant IT experience, including 2+ years in Murex support (experience with Murex MX.3 v3.1.60 or similar strongly preferred). 
- Strong understanding of Murex platform and MX.3 architecture, including batch processing and trade lifecycle flows. 
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux (RHEL 7/8, AIX) administration, SQL (T-SQL/PL-SQL) and Oracle databases (Oracle 12c/19c). 
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Unix/Linux) and Python (3.x) (experience with Python 3.6+ preferred). 
- Familiarity with release/configuration management tools (SVN, JIRA) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins (v2.x+) and ADO. 
- Exposure to incident and problem management processes and ITIL practices. 
- Strong debugging, analytical, and communication skills. 
- Preferred: Knowledge of trade lifecycle, fixed income, and derivative products. 
 
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Murex environment management and automation (MX.3 automation tools and scripting). 
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (v2.x+), ADO and related tooling. 
- Prior experience supporting financial institutions or treasury systems and familiarity with regulatory or clearance artifacts.
