Job Title: Foundry Moulding Supervisor

Location: [ WAI ]

Department: Foundry Operations

Reports To: Foundry Manager / Production Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Foundry Moulding Supervisor to oversee the moulding operations within our foundry. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising moulding teams, ensuring mould quality, optimizing productivity, maintaining safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement in moulding processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day moulding operations including preparation, pouring setup, and core setting.
  • Ensure moulding production meets required quality, quantity, and schedule targets.
  • Lead and coordinate moulding workers, assign tasks, and manage workforce planning.
  • Monitor moulding sand quality (e.g., moisture, permeability, strength) and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect moulds for defects and compliance with specifications.
  • Work with maintenance and tooling departments to ensure moulding machines and equipment are operating efficiently.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of moulding materials and patterns.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Implement and uphold health and safety regulations in the moulding area.
  • Report production data, downtime, and labour performance to management.
  • Collaborate with quality control, melting, and finishing departments to ensure seamless workflow.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of foundry experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of sand moulding techniques (green sand, no-bake, shell moulding, etc.).
  • Familiarity with moulding equipment and pattern/mould design principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of safety and environmental compliance.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems preferred).

Working Conditions

Work performed in a foundry environment (heat, noise, dust).Use of PPE required (helmets, gloves, safety glasses, etc.).May require standing for long periods and occasional lifting of heavy objects.

Foundry Technology CertificationFirst Aid/Safety TrainingLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge
