Middle QA Automation Engineer
Location: Remote, Full-Time, Long-Term
We are seeking a talented Middle QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic, globally distributed team, working with clients across Europe and the USA.This role combines hands-on manual testing with advanced test automation, giving you the opportunity to ensure the quality and performance of high-profile web applications, including e-commerce platforms, online banking, and trading systems.
Role Overview
As a Middle QA Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering fast, reliable, and scalable web solutions.You will perform manual and automated testing, report defects, validate fixes, and participate in pre-release verification.Your work will directly support client success and help optimize the performance of complex web applications. Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive manual and exploratory testing, ensuring functionality, usability, performance, and speed optimization.
Report, track, and verify defects using Jira, TestRail, and other QA tools.
Conduct pre-release and regression testing to guarantee high-quality deployments.
Develop, maintain, and expand automated test suites using our framework:
- Cucumber.js: BDD with Gherkin syntax
- Playwright: Cross-browser automation with TypeScript support
- Page Object Model (POM): Structured page and element interaction
- TypeScript: Type-safe automation scripts and robust error handling
- XPath Selectors: Accurate element location strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Europe and the USA, effectively communicating test results and QA insights in English.
Explore and integrate AI-powered testing tools to enhance efficiency and coverage.
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation frameworks, and test strategies.
Validate performance improvements and ensure applications are fast, scalable, and optimized for end users. Required Skills & Experience2–4 years of experience in QA with a strong mix of manual and automated testing.Solid understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and defect lifecycle management.Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (preferably Playwright, Cucumber.js).Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as Jira and TestRail.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones. Preferred Qualifications Preferred QualificationsExperience leveraging AI tools in QA workflows.Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based test environments.Familiarity with web application performance optimization, e-commerce, and online banking/trading systems.Prior experience with BDD or TDD approaches.
