MEP Head

Key Responsibilities

• Department Leadership:

  Manage and guide the MEP design and execution teams, ensuring effective coordination between mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.

• Design Oversight:

  Review and approve MEP drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure compliance with project objectives, regulatory codes, and client requirements.

• Interdisciplinary Coordination:

  Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated and efficient design solutions.

• Project Execution:

  Supervise site execution, installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and meet performance criteria.

• Quality Assurance:

  Establish and enforce quality standards and best practices across all MEP activities.

• Client and Consultant Liaison:

  Act as the primary point of contact for MEP-related discussions with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.

• Technical Excellence:

  Promote innovation and sustainability in design and execution, ensuring the adoption of modern technologies and energy-efficient systems.

• Team Development:

  Mentor junior engineers, foster technical growth within the team, and ensure skill development aligned with organizational goals.

• Budgeting and Value Engineering:

  Contribute to project cost estimation, budgeting, and value engineering exercises to optimize project performance without compromising quality.

• Compliance and Safety:

  Ensure that all MEP designs and site works adhere to national and international standards, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education:

  B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

• Experience:

  10–15 years of relevant experience in MEP design and project management within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.

• Technical Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems design and execution.
• Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (NBC, ASHRAE, IS codes, IEC, NFPA, etc.).
• Proficiency in design and coordination software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and related analytical tools.

• Project Management:

  Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously from concept to completion.

• Leadership:

  Strong team management, mentoring, and communication skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

• Client Handling:

  Experience in dealing with government bodies, consultants, and private clients, ensuring project objectives and timelines are met.

• Analytical and Strategic Thinking:

  Ability to evaluate complex engineering challenges and provide innovative, cost-effective solutions.
