Role & responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination:

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive MEP project plans.
• Ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with overall project requirements.

2. Design and Specification Review:

• Analyze and review MEP design drawings and specifications to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with project guidelines

3. Budget Management:

• Develop and manage the budget for MEP systems, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Provide cost estimates for MEP components and systems.

4. Resource Allocation:

• Assign tasks and responsibilities to MEP engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Ensure availability of required resources for the successful implementation of MEP work.

5. Quality Control:

• Implement and oversee quality control processes to monitor the installation and performance of MEP systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any deficiencies.

6. Schedule Management:

• Develop and maintain a project schedule for MEP work, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.
• Monitor progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.

7. Safety Compliance:

Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards for all MEP activities.

Implement and enforce safety protocols on the construction site.

8. Client and Stakeholder Communication:

• Maintain regular communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide updates on project milestones and address any concerns or queries.

9. Problem Solving:

• Identify and resolve technical and logistical challenges related to MEP systems promptly.
• Collaborate with project teams to find efficient and effective solutions.
• Participate where required in all aspects of the project management for the Electrical/Mechanical works.
• Manage and supervises the onsite works.
• Undertake the detailed short-term planning and co-ordination at site in accordance with the master programme.
• Ensure that all information is available & materials are available at site to undertake the works.
• Ensure all materials are correctly stored at site and installed without damage.
• Arrange the required tools and equipment to be available at site.
• Control of the quality and technical correctness of the installation in accordance with the project quality assurance plan.
• Ensure that the works are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the project safety plan.
• Co-ordinate with the main contractor and other sub-contractors at site.
• Set targets and monitors the productivity of the workforce at site.
• Arrange skills development and training for the foremen and site workforce.
• Monitors the production and quality of sub-contractors works at site.
• Identifies additional works at site and advises the Project Engineer.
• Identifies delays at site and notifies the Project Engineer.
• Implements the inspection and test plan and obtains the supervising engineers approval at each stage of the works.
• Maintains records of the changes to the working drawings to enable the record drawings to be produced.
• Manages the system testing and commissioning.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing MEP systems in construction projects as Managerial position.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and relevant codes and standards.
• Project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
