MEP Estimation Engineer Trainee

Key Responsibilities1. Technical & Estimation Activities

• Study and understand project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
• Perform quantity take-off for mechanical components (piping, HVAC, firefighting, equipment, etc.).
• Assist in preparing cost estimates, rate analysis, and bill of materials.
• Support in drafting technical proposals and compliance statements.
• Prepare preliminary project cost breakdowns and assist in pricing.

2. Vendor & Material Coordination

• Send RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors and collect quotations.
• Compare vendor quotations and prepare techno-commercial comparison sheets.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely receipt of pricing and technical data.

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain updated databases of material prices and subcontractor rates.
• Prepare and organize tender documents, clarification requests, and technical submissions.
• Assist in documentation for ongoing bids and support the team during tender discussions.

4. Learning & Development

• Learn company estimation procedures, pricing strategies, and project costing methods.
• Participate in site visits (if required) to understand project scope and materials.
• Work closely with senior engineers for skill development.

Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical systems: HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping, or industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, P&IDs, layouts, BOQs.
• Basic understanding of estimation and costing principles.
• Proficiency in software like:
• AutoCAD
• MS Excel (advanced preferred)
• ERP systems (added advantage)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines under supervision.

Qualification

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Freshers or 0–1 year experience in estimation, design, or mechanical projects.

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹36,541.43 per month
