The Indian School Psychology Association (InSPA) is dedicated to promoting school psychology services and supporting the holistic development of children across India. Recognizing the diverse educational standards in India, InSPA emphasizes the necessity of psychological guidance for all children, irrespective of their school's economic status. School Psychologists are crucial in ensuring data-driven decision-making and creating conducive environments for learning.


We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Specialist to volunteer their expertise in guiding our content creation efforts. Your contributions will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, sensitivity, and effectiveness of our materials.


Volunteer Position: Mental Health Specialist (Content)


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship

    to the content development team on mental health-related topics.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy, sensitivity, and appropriateness of all content

    (written, visual, and multimedia) related to mental health, school psychology, and child/adolescent well-being.
  • Collaborate with the content development team

    to translate complex psychological concepts into accessible and engaging materials for diverse audiences (educators, parents, students).
  • Offer feedback and recommendations

    to improve the clarity, impact, and cultural relevance of content.
  • Contribute to the development of content strategy and guidelines to maintain high standards of quality and ethical considerations.
  • Stay updated

    on current research, best practices, and ethical guidelines in mental health and school psychology.
  • Identify potential gaps

    in content and recommend new areas of focus.

Eligibility:

  • Passion for InSPA's Mission:

    in a relevant field such as psychology, clinical psychology, counseling, or a related mental health discipline.
  • Subject Matter Expertise:

    Deep understanding of mental health principles, child and adolescent development, and school psychology practices.
  • Strong Communication Skills:

    Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills:

    Ability to analyze content, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Cultural Sensitivity

    : Awareness of cultural diversity and the ability to ensure content is culturally relevant and appropriate for the Indian context.
  • Ethical Standards:

    Adherence to the highest ethical standards in professional practice and content creation.
  • Reliability and Commitment:

    Consistent dedication to the agreed-upon hours and deadlines is essential for the success of this volunteer role.
  • Team Player

    : Willingness to collaborate effectively with other volunteers and InSPA staff.


Duration:

Remote work with flexible timings, at least 1-2 hours x 5 days a week, with a minimum commitment of 2 months.


Compensation:

  • This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.

  • A Letter of Recommendation or Volunteer Experience Certificate,

    relevant to your contributions, will be provided after the minimum commitment period.
