Job Description

Company Description

Nuventura India Pvt Ltd is dedicated to creating a future where the energy we use does not harm our planet. Concerned about the environmental impact of SF6, a gas with high global warming potential found in medium voltage switchgear, Nuventura was established in July 2017. The company developed and tested new technology, and has since secured licensing and pilot partners for operation. Nuventura has expanded its presence in India to support the parent company and various partners in SEA and India, and to become a Climate KIC Accelerator.

Role Description

Lead the design, modeling, and implementation of protection and control schemes for medium- and high voltage switchgear and substation automation systems.

Develop relay protection philosophies, single-line diagrams (SLD), protection logic diagrams, and coordination studies to ensure grid stability and fault clearance reliability.

Perform relay selection, configuration, and logic programming for protection applications such as:

o Distance Protection

Differential Protection (Transformer, Busbar, Line, Generator)

o Overcurrent & Earth Fault Protection

o Voltage & Frequency Protection

Use EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, and MATLAB Simulink to design detailed electrical schematics, control diagrams, and system wiring layouts.

  • Proficiency in

    AutoCAD

for electrical schematics and panel design.
  • Strong knowledge of

medium voltage switchgear (up to 36 kV or higher)

, including circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs, PTs, and interlocks.
  • Experience in

protection relay logic design, configuration, and testing

(e.g., Siemens, ABB, Schneider, GE, or SEL relays).
  • Ability to design

    protection and control schemes

, including trip logic, interlocking logic, and automation sequences.
  • Hands-on experience with

    relay test kits

    OMICRON CMC

    or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with

    IEC and ANSI standards

for MV switchgear design and protection.
  • Knowledge of

    SCADA/communication protocols

    (IEC 61850, Modbus).
  • Understanding of

    arc-flash safety

, grounding practices, and insulation coordination.

Project & Analytical Skills

  • Strong ability to

    analyze project requirements

and translate them into protection and control logic.
