Mechanical Production engineer

1. Purpose of the Role

To ensure efficient production, quality assurance, and design support for mechanical components with a primary focus on Fuel Dispensers and associated metal design parts, while coordinating with vendors for procurement and fabrication requirements.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Production (Fuel Dispensers)

• Plan, monitor, and execute the assembly and production activities of fuel dispensers.
• Ensure production schedules are met as per client and project requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, R&D, and Supply Chain) to streamline production.
• Monitor production line efficiency and suggest improvements for productivity and cost reduction.

B. Quality Control (QC)

• Inspect incoming raw materials, fabricated parts, and in-process assemblies.
• Conduct quality checks on dispensers and ensure compliance with company and client standards.
• Document quality issues and initiate corrective & preventive actions.
• Work closely with the QA/QC team to maintain ISO and safety standards.

C. Design (Metals & Mechanical Components)

• Provide technical support to the design team for sheet metal and fabricated components.
• Suggest design improvements for manufacturability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Review engineering drawings and validate feasibility in production.
• Liaise with CAD/Design Engineers to update drawings as per client/project needs.

D. Vendor Coordination & Visits

• Visit vendor sites for quality inspection, approval of fabricated parts, and follow-up on delivery schedules.
• Assess vendor capabilities and ensure adherence to company standards.
• Coordinate with vendors for modifications, rework, or improvements.
• Develop long-term vendor relationships to support business continuity.

3. Key Deliverables

• Timely production of fuel dispensers as per schedule.
• Zero non-conformance in quality checks.
• Cost-effective and production-friendly design inputs.
• Vendor reports and on-time supply of fabricated parts.

4. Skills & Competencies Required

• Strong knowledge of Mechanical Production & QC processes.
• Proficiency in sheet metal design & fabrication.
• Familiarity with quality tools (5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, ISO standards).
• Effective communication and vendor management skills.
• Problem-solving and analytical ability.

5. Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Production output vs. target.
• % rejection/rework in QC.
• Timeliness and accuracy of vendor deliveries.
• Implementation of cost-reduction/efficiency improvement initiatives.
