Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in designing and preparing fabrication/assembly drawings for industrial equipment, components, and structures. The candidate will be responsible for converting concepts into detailed engineering drawings, ensuring manufacturability, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards. The role involves close coordination with production, quality, and procurement teams to deliver cost-effective and efficient designs. Responsibilities:Prepare detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.). Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, BOM (Bill of Materials), and assembly drawings. Interpret client specifications, engineering standards, and project requirements into workable designs. Ensure designs are optimized for fabrication, assembly, and cost-effectiveness. Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection where required. Review and revise drawings based on feedback from manufacturing and quality teams. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and fabricators for technical clarifications. Maintain drawing documentation, revision control, and ensure accuracy in records. Support production and shop floor teams during fabrication and assembly stages. Comply with safety and industry standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, etc.). Key Tasks:Design & Drafting Create accurate fabrication and machining drawings. Develop sheet metal drawings as required. Generate BOMs and part lists for procurement. Technical Analysis Ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerances for manufacturability. Select appropriate materials and finishes for components. Validate designs using simulations or stress analysis (if required). Project Execution Convert client concepts and layouts into shop-ready drawings. Support prototype development and product modifications. Track project timelines and deliverables. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with production, quality, and procurement teams. Provide clarifications to fabricators during manufacturing. Incorporate feedback from the shop floor to improve designs. Qualifications Required:Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication drawings. Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent). Knowledge of fabrication processes: sheet metal. Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and material standards. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
