Job Purpose:

Mechanical Design Engineers at solar project sites to ensure execution of mechanical works is in line with approved engineering designs and industry standards. The role also provides real-time design support for site-specific modifications in module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, and mechanical layouts, acting as a bridge between Head Office (HO) Mechanical Design Team and Site Execution Team.

Key Responsibilities:

•Review and interpret mechanical design drawings issued by HO (MMS, trackers, layout, fabrication drawings, assembly details).

•Prepare/modify site-specific mechanical drawings when required (MMS foundation depth adjustments, structure alignment changes, fabrication detailing, anchoring).

•Conduct wind load and structural stability checks for site-specific conditions.

•Verify MMS foundation positions, tilt angles, and row spacing as per design.

•Support fabrication, welding, and erection quality checks against approved standards.

•Provide design clarifications/modifications at site and coordinate with HO for approvals.

•Issue red-marked drawings/as-built drawings after execution.

•Coordinate with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.

•Support site teams in resolving mechanical erection bottlenecks (torque requirements, alignment, module clamping).

•Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, approvals, and as-built records.

Qualification & Experience/ Skills Requirements:

•Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/drafting tools.

•Strong knowledge of MMS, trackers, and steel structures used in solar projects.

•Understanding of IS/IEC codes, wind load standards, welding/fabrication practices.

•Ability to perform basic structural calculations for MMS and support structures.

•Familiarity with quality inspection of welding, bolting, and module installation.

•Effective communication and problem-solving skills for site-level challenges.

•B.E./B.tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).

•5–8 years of experience in mechanical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred).
