About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced MD Emergency Medicine with IDCCM training to join an on-site Emergency Department team. This role is ideal for clinicians who thrive in high-volume, high-acuity settings, lead multidisciplinary care, and drive evidence-based improvements in emergency and infectious-disease critical care.Role & Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level emergency and IDCCM clinical care: lead resuscitation, stabilization, and disposition of critically ill and infectious patients.
- Perform advanced airway management, emergency procedures (central lines, chest drains, emergency thoracostomy) and bedside POCUS-guided interventions.
- Coordinate care with ICU, infectious disease, radiology, and surgical teams to ensure timely escalation, transfer, or admission.
- Lead triage, patient-flow and surge protocols to optimise ED throughput and bed utilisation during peak periods and outbreaks.
- Contribute to clinical governance: participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, infection-control audits, and local guideline development for IDCCM pathways.
- Mentor and train junior doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff on emergency procedures, infection control, and evidence-based emergency care.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MD (Emergency Medicine) with IDCCM certification or equivalent documented critical-care infectious disease training.
- Minimum 2–5 years post-qualification experience in high-volume Emergency Departments or critical care units.
- Proven competency in ACLS/ATLS protocols, advanced airway management, mechanical ventilation basics, and emergency invasive procedures.
- Strong clinical judgement in undifferentiated acute presentations, demonstrated POCUS experience, and adherence to infection-control best practices.
Preferred
- Experience in tertiary-care hospitals, involvement in quality-improvement projects, or prior leadership of ED/critical-care teams.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, clinical audit tools, and training/mentorship of multidisciplinary staff.
