Purpose of the Role

This role will be responsible for executing the marketing strategies in covering the territory allotted, generating enquires, provide quotations, follow-up and securing new orders for transformer, generators, MV and LV Switchgear Panels and electrical turnkey projects. The role interfaces with the client (contractor, consultant and buyer) and the Project Mangers for supporting execution and payment collection in accordance with the company policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and map potential sectors for new business opportunities.
  • Acquire new corporate clients including contractors within the specified region or market, strengthening relationships with end-users, sales teams, and channel partners to enhance UPTs market position.
  • Meet consultants and should obtain brand approval (if not available) in that region.
  • Lead the review of customers' RFQ’s/specifications to ensure that quotations comply with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering and Production department to confirm that customer specifications are being followed during manufacturing.
  • Drive the conversion of inquiries into orders and make presentations to customers, including utilities, to meet assigned territory targets.
  • Work towards achieving annual sales and revenue targets through new sales acquisitions.
  • Provide technical support to clients, addressing queries, and ensuring they have a clear understanding of product features.
  • Train and support the sales and marketing teams on the technical aspects of products to aid in effective client interactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet company production and sales targets.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the superior, both verbal and written.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s / Masters Degree in Business or engineering discipline.
  • 2 - 6 years of relevant experience ( Preferably in Transformer industry)

Job Specific Competencies

  • Ability to analyze market trends, customer needs and identifying sales opportunities.
  • Proficiency in sales strategies, lead generation, negotiation and closing deals and managing sales pipeline
  • Working on Microsoft Office functions including but not limited to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven communication skills with demonstrated proactive collaboration and effective influencing skills
  • Must have good analytical & problem-solving skills, a positive attitude and desire to succeed.
  • Willingness to travel on work.

Language Skills

  • Written and spoken competency in English. Conversing in Local language preferred.
