Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Develop annual and quarterly marketing plans aligned with business goals.
  • Prepare marketing calendars covering campaigns, promotions, exhibitions, and customer engagement activities.
  • Conduct periodic market assessments and SWOT analysis to refine strategic direction.
  • Recommend improvements in product positioning, pricing, and promotional approaches.

2. Lead Generation & Business Development

  • Identify new customers, industries, and regions for business expansion.
  • Generate and qualify leads through direct outreach, networking, trade platforms, and digital channels.
  • Maintain a structured lead pipeline with defined follow-up actions and conversion ratios.
  • Map customer organizations to identify decision makers, influencers, and procurement processes.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build long-term relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Ensure timely response to enquiries, clarifications, and customer needs.
  • Coordinate customer visits, meetings, product presentations, and technical discussions.
  • Collect customer feedback and ensure corrective and preventive actions are initiated.

4. Sales Support & Coordination

  • Support preparation of quotations, proposals, and commercial offers.
  • Coordinate internally with Production, Planning, QA, Purchase, and Finance for order fulfilment.
  • Follow up on pending enquiries, sample developments, approvals, and dispatch schedules.
  • Maintain updated sales trackers and enquiry progress records.

5. Branding, Promotion & Communication

  • Manage company branding assets, brochures, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Update website pages, digital content, and social media posts on a periodic basis.
  • Plan participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, and promotional events.
  • Develop content for digital campaigns, newsletters, and product-focused communication.

6. Market Research & Competitor Analysis

  • Track industry trends, customer demand patterns, and market movements.
  • Study competitor products, pricing, strengths, weaknesses, and strategies.
  • Prepare regular market insight reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Provide inputs to management for new product development and diversification.

7. Reporting & Documentation

  • Submit weekly/monthly marketing activity reports.
  • Maintain CRM data, customer interaction records, and visit reports.
  • Prepare enquiry status summaries and follow-up action plans.
  • Present performance metrics during monthly and quarterly review meetings.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, R&D, QA, Production, and Purchase teams to ensure customer alignment.
  • Participate in internal meetings related to product development, planning, and customer service.
  • Support management in initiatives related to marketing effectiveness and process improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

  • MBA in Marketing or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years of experience in B2B/industrial/manufacturing marketing.
  • Experience in customer handling and business development preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
