QA & QC Manager

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Planning & System Management

  • Develop and implement quality management systems aligned with ISO/IATF standards.
  • Establish quality procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and inspection standards.
  • Ensure adherence to quality policies across Production, Stores, and Testing departments.
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits by customers and certification bodies.

2. Incoming, In-Process & Final Inspection

  • Oversee inspection of raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and engineering items.
  • Implement in-process quality checks to monitor consistency in production.
  • Approve final products before dispatch based on defined quality criteria.
  • Maintain calibration schedules for instruments and testing equipment.

3. Customer Quality Management

  • Handle customer complaints, analyse issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare 8D/5-Why reports, CAPA documentation, and root-cause analysis summaries.
  • Coordinate customer audits, sample submissions, and third-party testing requirements.
  • Ensure timely communication and closure of quality-related concerns.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain all QC/QA documentation including reports, test certificates, quality records, and traceability logs.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory standards, certifications, and product specifications.
  • Maintain and update Quality Manuals, Process Sheets, and Control Plans.
  • Ensure MSA (Measurement System Analysis) and Calibration records are up-to-date.

5. Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead QA/QC team members and assign responsibilities for inspections and testing.
  • Conduct training on SOPs, product standards, defect identification, and quality tools.
  • Develop competency of team members through continuous guidance and audits.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify quality improvement opportunities to reduce defects, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Implement Kaizen, 5S, and problem-solving methodologies across departments.
  • Analyse quality trends and prepare preventive improvement plans.

7. Vendor Quality Management

  • Support Purchase team in supplier qualification and evaluation.
  • Perform vendor audits and ensure incoming quality standards are met consistently.
  • Provide feedback on supplier quality performance and drive improvements.

8. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare weekly/monthly quality performance reports.
  • Track defect rates, rejection trends, customer complaints, and process deviations.
  • Present quality metrics during management review meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering / Textile / Science or equivalent.
  • 8-10 years of experience in QA/QC in manufacturing (textile/industrial/rubber preferred).
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IATF systems, QC tools, and inspection systems.
  • Experience with testing instruments, calibration, and documentation.
