Role & responsibilities a) Supervise the daily operations of furnace equipment and related systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. b) Lead, train, and mentor a team of furnace operators and technicians, promoting a positive work environment and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. c) Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, including LOTO procedures, and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and operational regulations. d) Develop and maintain quality control processes to meet production goals and industry standards, working closely with production and quality managers. e) Coordinate maintenance schedules and troubleshoot technical issues related to furnace operations to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability. f) Analyse production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement, and contribute to technological innovation and energy-saving initiatives. g) Prepare and present reports on furnace operations, covering production efficiency, safety incidents, and process improvements to management. g) Manage departmental labour, equipment, and maintenance budgets effectively. Skills a) In-depth knowledge of furnaces, related processes, and automation, potentially gained from a background in Melting technology, process engineering, or manufacturing. b) Strong leadership skills with a people-oriented approach, along with excellent communication and analytical skills to effectively manage a team and present data. c) Experience with quality and safety management systems such as ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001. d) Several years of experience in an industrial production environment, such as brass, copper, aluminum, & product manufacturing. e) The ability to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve them efficiently.
