Manufacturing – Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant

Job Summary

We are looking for a Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant with strong manufacturing domain expertise to implement, configure, and support manufacturing finance and costing processes. The role focuses on aligning shop-floor operations with accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Finance Process Design

• Analyze and map manufacturing business processes: BOMs, routings, production orders, WIP, and variance analysis.
• Design and configure manufacturing costing models (standard, FIFO, weighted average).
• Define product costing, overheads, and absorption logic.
• Support make-to-order, make-to-stock, and engineer-to-order scenarios.

Dynamics 365 Finance Configuration

• Configure and integrate the following modules:
• General Ledger
• Cost Accounting
• Inventory Accounting
• Fixed Assets (production equipment capitalization & depreciation)
• Budget Control
• Set up production postings, WIP accounting, and period close activities.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and financial reconciliation.

Integration & Collaboration

• Work closely with Supply Chain / Manufacturing modules for seamless data flow.
• Coordinate with technical teams on extensions, reports, and integrations.
• Support data migration for BOMs, routings, costs, and open production orders.

Testing, Go-Live & Support

• Prepare functional design documents (FDDs).
• Lead or support UAT, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare and production support.
• Train end users and prepare SOPs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in Dynamics 365 Finance or AX (2012/2009).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing finance & cost accounting.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Production cost postings
• WIP & variance accounting
• Inventory valuation
• Experience working with manufacturing clients (process or discrete).
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• End-to-end D365 Finance implementation experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of standard costing rollups and revaluations.
• Experience with multi-plant and multi-legal entity setups.
• Microsoft D365 Finance certification (MB-310 or equivalent).
