Manager - Urban WSH [Water, Sanitation & Hygiene]

Primary Responsibilities

• Drive the Urban WSH team’s strategic priorities, setting clear goals and pathways to deliver measurable impact.
• Develop and manage operational plans for a 10+ member team, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and delivery of outcomes.
• Stay updated on sectoral developments in urban sanitation and hygiene in India, bringing an inclusive and forward-looking approach.
• Build and nurture partnerships with NGOs, donors, government, and sector stakeholders to drive alignment and collaboration.
• Ensure consistent implementation of initiatives with strong learning and quality standards.
• Lead critical stakeholder engagements—preparing proposals, representing the program in meetings, and managing donor/partner relationships.
• Strengthen and manage NGO partner relationships; identify opportunities for new sector-level collaborations.
• Oversee reporting, documentation, and financial tracking with high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Build the capacity of team members and consultants, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality work.
• Mentor, guide, and support team members, fostering a collaborative and accountable work culture.
  

Desired Skills & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of work experience in the non-profit sector, WSH programs, advisory, or program management, with exposure to multi-stakeholder engagement.
• Proven track record of managing teams/divisions independently with end-to-end accountability.
• Experience engaging senior leaders and donors with excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to evolving sector trends.
• Strong people leadership skills able to inspire, mentor, and hold accountability.
• Demonstrated passion for inclusive sanitation, public health, or related social impact sectors.
