Role Overview
The
Manager – Supplier Selection
will be responsible for building and scaling the supplier ecosystem across categories and geographies. The role involves identifying, onboarding, and managing suppliers who can act as category co-captains - partnering with us to curate product assortments, drive category performance, and enhance the overall supplier program.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Identification & Onboarding
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, importers, and aggregators across diverse product categories.
Establish partnerships with suppliers who have deep category expertise (e.g., home & kitchen, stationery, wardrobe organizers, etc.).Negotiate commercial terms and ensure smooth onboarding into internal systems.
- Supplier Program Design & Execution
Develop and institutionalize a structured
Supplier Partner Program
to engage, benchmark, and evaluate suppliers.Define engagement models, incentive structures, and performance evaluation metrics.Build governance mechanisms to monitor supplier health and churn management.
Partner closely with category managers to curate the right assortment in collaboration with suppliers.
Enable supplier-driven insights and product innovations to strengthen category positioning.Align supplier selection and curation with business goals and consumer demand.
- Vendor Relationship & Operational Excellence
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Drive supplier accountability for assortment quality, pricing, and fulfillment timelines.Ensure operational excellence in supplier onboarding, replenishment, and product lifecycle management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
Work with supply chain, finance, and product teams to streamline vendor management processes.Drive automation, efficiency, and data-backed decision-making across supplier operations.
Desired Skills
- 3-6 years of experience in supplier management, marketplace operations, or partner program management.
- Experience with large-scale marketplaces is preferred.
- Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, vendor ecosystems, and supply-side processes.
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to interpret and leverage data for decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and managing supplier or partner programs from scratch.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial and execution-focused mindset, with the ability to thrive in an evolving environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving orientation.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.
