Maintenance Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Execute routine preventive maintenance on solar cell stringer machines (e.g., tabber-stringer systems, cell handling units, soldering heads).
  
• Inspect and maintain heaters, soldering units, belts, grippers, vacuum systems, conveyors, and alignment systems.
  
• Monitor machine parameters to detect early signs of wear or malfunction.
  

2. Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation faults in stringer machines.
  
• Repair soldering head issues, misalignment, cell breakage problems, and conveyor jams.
  
• Reduce machine downtime by implementing quick and effective corrective actions.
  

3. Machine Calibration & Optimization

• Ensure accurate calibration of:
  
• Soldering temperatures
  
• Cell alignment and placement
  
• Ribbon feeding systems
  
• Vacuum and suction components
  
• Optimize machine speed, cycle time, and string quality to meet production targets.
  

4. Process & Quality Support

• Monitor string quality, solder joint accuracy, and cell breakage rate.
  
• Work closely with production and quality teams to improve output yield.
  
• Analyze recurring issues using RCA, 5 Why, and 8D methodologies.
  

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, spare parts usage, and PM records.
  
• Update maintenance SOPs and machine operation manuals.
  
• Track and manage critical spare parts inventory.
  

6. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) procedures.
  
• Ensure machines operate within safety, environmental, and quality compliance guidelines.
  
• Participate in internal audits and safety inspections.
  

Preferred candidate profile

ducation:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  

Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in a solar module manufacturing plant.
  
• Hands-on experience with stringer or tabber-stringer machines (e.g., Meyer Burger, Mondragon, Jinchen, SC Solar, Autowell, etc.) is highly preferred.
  
• Experience in high-speed automation equipment maintenance.
