We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in sheet metal design, industrial equipment, and product development. The role involves designing and developing innovative products such as Physical Security Equipment (SDL), Strong Room Doors (SRD), Safes, and other customized solutions. The candidate will work extensively with SolidWorks (3D CAD) and other mechanical design tools to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and production-ready designs. Key Responsibilities: Strong ability in 3D modeling, design, and detailing using SolidWorks (mandatory). Develop mechanical designs for sheet metal and machined parts, industrial market products, and assemblies. Convert product concepts into detailed, producible components, including: Machined parts Sheet metal enclosures and cabinets Sub-system assemblies & assemblies Mechanical mates Create detailed 3D/2D models for sheet metal parts (new designs and reverse engineering). Conceptualize and develop innovative product solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Purchase, and Suppliers) to ensure smooth project execution. Support the transition of designs from concept to production, eliminating bottlenecks while ensuring cost-effectiveness. Evaluate designs for compliance with quality standards and manufacturing feasibility. Prepare and maintain documentation such as work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans. BOM (Bill of Materials) creation as per SAP requirements and perform time studies. Perform costing and benefit analysis for new projects using Excel. Provide technical support for existing and new designs. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of sheet metal and machining manufacturing processes and materials. Proficient in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) . Good understanding of manufacturing tolerances and optimal design considerations. Knowledge of AutoCAD for blank release, nesting, and sheet estimation. Familiarity with template, jig, and fixture development . Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Motivated team player with a proactive approach. Preferred Knowledge: ISO 9001:2008, EMS 14001, and 5S practices. PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis). Welding and finishing processes. Material selection and various manufacturing processes. Organizational Responsibilities: Ensure timely delivery of designs and maintain product quality standards. Drive innovation and incorporate current trends into design and development. Actively coordinate across departments to ensure smooth workflows. Uphold organizational values and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
