Position: Local Account Manager


As a Local Account Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing client relationships across assigned markets. This includes strategic development, retention, and operational excellence. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and driving business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand Strategic Meetings Management Program and client contracts.
  • Develop and execute local business plans aligned with regional strategy.
  • Lead client change management initiatives and influence decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on program spend, savings, and profitability.
  • Conduct regular business and performance reviews.
  • Manage client account P&L and lead commercial discussions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and resolve escalated service issues.
  • Ensure client expectations and service levels are met and exceeded.
  • Promote preferred supplier usage and negotiate enhanced commission rates.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and communicate insights to clients.
  • Support new implementations and encourage strong client-team relationships.
  • May also support travel and meetings account management.


Key Relationships:

  • Internal: Operations, sales and account management team.
  • External: Clients, suppliers and industry contacts.



Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • 5+ years in client/account and operational management.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • CMP or CMM certification.
  • Experience with SMMP programs and business travel.
