One of the earliest banks in South India, "South Indian Bank" came into being during the Swadeshi movement. • ROLES & SCALE OF APPOINTMENT

ROLE: Legal Officer- General, Legal Officer- Recovery

SCALE OF APPOINTMENT*: Scale I/ II (IBA Package)

INITIAL PLACE OF POSTING: Anywhere in India

* However, the role and scale of appointment will be fixed by the management based on the qualification and experience of the applicant.

• ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (as on 31.08.2025)

Work Experience

Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in scheduled banks/NBFCs/other financial institutions/ reputed law firms.

Minimum Educational Qualification

LLB under regular course from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks

Probation Period

1 Year

• COMPENSATION PACKAGE

Will be eligible for Performance Linked Incentives (PLI) based on performance review on the terms and conditions of the Board approved Performance Linked Incentive Scheme for the respective financial years. All other benefits will be as applicable to the Scale in which the applicants are recruited.

• Legal Officer - General

• Should possess extensive knowledge related to Mortgage/Pledge/Hypothecation/lien and Security Perfection.
• Should possess knowledge on Labour Laws/Code, Industrial Disputes Act, PF laws, ESI regulations, Gratuity Laws etc.
• Experience in clearing title for the Mortgage backed loans.
• New Product Documentation -Vetting/Preparation/Drafting-Corporate, Retail, MSME and Agri Vertical.
• Liaisoning with external Counsels engaged in title clearances for Mortgage backed loans.
• Funded and Non-Funded Documentation and other Trade Related documentation.
• General Legal Advisory role to the Internal Clients.
• Trainings / L&D to the Internal Stakeholders.
• Ability to work in teams.

• Legal Officer - Recovery

• Should possess extensive knowledge related to Mortgage/Pledge/Hypothecation/Lien/Charge
• Should possess extensive knowledge in Recovery related laws viz: DRT Act, SARFAESI Act, IBC, Arbitration and Conciliation laws, Negotiable Instruments Act etc.
• Should be ready to meet and follow up with delinquent clients for early recovery through legal means, including sale of assets and negotiated settlements
• Vetting/Preparation/Drafting of notice/reply relating to SARFAESI and other legal notices.
• Liaisoning with Counsels engaged in Recovery related litigations in various Courts/Tribunals and co-ordination and efficient management of the cases
• Liaisoning with other Stakeholder Departments
• Trainings / L&D to the Internal Stakeholders
• Ability to work in teams to achieve assigned goals
