Job Description

  • Work closely with Monotype s engineering/technical teams to understand and address their legal support needs.
  • Provide full contract support and legal advice for engagements with third parties, including contractors, consultants, and joint ventures, as well as managing NDAs.
  • Guide procurement processes involving infrastructure and software licensing, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Advice on legal considerations for technology products (privacy, cybersecurity, data, intellectual property overlaps) and collaborate on business model development with the VP of Global Licensing and Strategy.
  • Develop and help implement technology-related policies that support innovation and compliance across the organization.
  • Leverage your technical understanding preferably backed by formal education in Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent academic experience to bridge the gap between legal counsel and technology support.
What we re looking for:
  • Licensed to practice law in India and in good standing, with a minimum of 3+ years experience as a legal advisor (solicitor) to tech companies.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and negotiating technology contracts, including those related to third-party collaborations and procurement.
  • Preferably, a candidate with formal education in a technical discipline or proven academic experience in a science-related field.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A strong team player with a proven track record of working effectively across multidisciplinary teams and driving strategic legal initiatives in dynamic, tech-driven environments.
