Job Description

Role Overview and Responsibilities:

Dhruva Space is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Legal Associate to support the company’s legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks. This role is central to enabling compliant business growth, managing contractual obligations, supporting intellectual property, and aligning Dhruva Space’s operations with both national and international legal frameworks. You will collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring that the company’s strategic initiatives are backed by strong legal foundations while advancing its role in India’s growing space ecosystem.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring enforceability, clarity, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international laws, including Contract Law, Civil Law, Companies Act, Space Law, and UN treaties.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to enable compliant and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain legal templates, SOPs, and repositories to streamline processes and reduce turnaround time.
  • Support management of the company’s intellectual property portfolio and contribute to internal policy development for digital and physical assets.
  • Manage contract lifecycle processes, leveraging digital platforms and automation tools for efficiency.
  • Provide legal research and insights on emerging international frameworks, policies, and treaties relevant to the space-tech sector.
  • Participate in organizational reviews, internal training, and compliance initiatives to ensure awareness and adherence.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (3-year LLB or 5-year integrated program) from a recognized institution.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in a law firm or in-house legal team, preferably within space, aerospace, or technology sectors.
  • Strong expertise in contract drafting, negotiations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to Space Law, International Law, and UN Treaties is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, multitask effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interest in space technology, innovation, and international regulatory developments is preferred.
