About Us:

Qualys is the leading provider of information security and compliance cloud solutions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team and lead the development of backend systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of experience in backend development with expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, and RDBMS (Oracle preferred).
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile.
Proficiency in design patterns and SOLID principles.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Proven ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to successful completion.
Experience working with cloud technologies and services will be added advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend systems using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Oracle RDBMS.
Lead the architecture and implementation of backend components to support the organization's software applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Implement best practices for performance optimization, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
Drive the adoption of Agile development methodologies and participate in planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Own and drive features/projects to successful completion.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in backend development and cloud services.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
