Lead QA Engineer (Automation)

Role purpose

Prevalent is looking for a Lead QA Engineer to drive the quality and performance of our cutting-edge AI products, Exposure Management and Data Fabric . In this role, you’ll lead the development of automated testing strategies, ensure high scalability and security, and work closely with engineering teams to enhance product functionality. You’ll take ownership of end-to-end QA processes, champion continuous improvement, and help shape world-class solutions for our clients.

Key accountabilities

• Create test designs, cases, processes, and test data to ensure scalability without compromising performance using smart test data

• Execute automated regression tests after each release to speed up Big Data validation

• Collaborate on business requirements, providing test scripts and scenarios to ensure developers understand them

• Design and write test automation scripts using frameworks

• Execute test cases, report defects, and define severity and priority

• Follow defined standards and procedures for all test-related work

• Document bugs for development teams to easily reproduce issues

• Participate in testing procedure walkthroughs and prepare reports

• Contribute to predictable, quality release delivery

• Maintain detailed documentation of test cases and results

• Proactively identify and solve issues, proposing innovative solutions

Skills and Experience

• Relevant experience in QA and testing across the full SDLC, including QA automation and tooling

• Ability to interpret requirements and technical specs to create valuable test cases

• Experience building test infrastructures using Docker, Kubernetes, and continuous delivery/release pipelines

• Testing enterprise applications on AWS and Azure cloud environments

• Proficient in coding using Java, Scala, Python, and other languages

• Familiarity with Hadoop, NoSQL, MySQL, and Elastic s earch

• Strong analytical, development, and testing skills, including translating requirements into test scenarios

• Attention to detail in spotting patterns and irregularities

• Willingness to learn new technologies

• Proficient with full project lifecycle from concept to result

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills

• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and development processes

• Proficient in GIT and automated QA processes in agile environments

• Pertinent experience in test automation and DevOps tooling

• Practical knowledge of Big Data technologies like Spark and Hadoop

Education

• B.Tech / Equivalent degree in Computer Science

• CTFL, ISTQB, CSQA or CSTE certified Degree level qualifications in a technical related subject is preferred
